Dr. Bobs Adventure

We've created this blog for several reasons. First is to keep family and friends(including Bobs' pts.)informed of Bobs' condition while he undergoes treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia(AML) at HUP. You may also write to Bob by posting a comment, which I'll print for him to read. Please feel free to pass this blog site on to anyone you think may want to join us.Instructions to blog are listed under day 12, and bobs' address etc are under day 14. Click on April Archives to find both.

Day 27 Admission Day 7 HiDAC

Hi all,

Well, this is REALLY gonna be a quick note tonight. There's nothing new to report. Bob's feeling well, with his hgb and platelets both in the acceptable range today. He managed to walk twice today...3 laps each time. He's had no fevers, rashes or infections, and his appetite remains great. His BP is holding in the 150/75 range. The last dose of high dose chemo was given this afternoon, and he's off IV fluids. So, this is where the waiting game begins.

Please keep praying that the chemo has knocked out this blasted AML, and Bob is in remission. Thank you for all the cards, blogs gifts and calls. We know you are with us, and that means everything.

All our love,
Bob and Mo

Hi Mo and Bob,

Prayers are being heaven sent in overdrive for you tonight and everyday until you are rid of those nasty cells.
The shore was wet, but still not home. Works for me. Take care.

Love,

Good Morning Bob,
Finally checking in after a crazy weekend. Couldn't get on yesterday since we lost electricity with those wild thunderstorms. Whew! Glad to see you are still behaving yourself.
Mom is here. She spent the night after coming to see Dylan's spring concert (chorus). Let's just say it was an improvement over the Christmas concert! Joyce sends her love and prayers your way as always. (Jerry too, but he didn't come over...can't sit still that long..."ants in pants").
Keep strong. Do your laps, eat that nasty food for sustenance and rest up so you can get out of there!
Love, Kim
ps mdf, where have you been? You really are trying to act like me!

Hi Bob and Mo,
Great talking to you yesterday Bob. You sound super. Also helped that you spoke with Bill as finally he went to the doctor this morning. Actually we just returned from Bill having a chest x-ray, blood work and and EKG. He is on new medicine now so hopefully the two Mazzola boys will get well together !!!
I am having only positive thoughts and loads of prayers that this last chemo session worked perfectly.
Talk to you later.
Anne

Hi Bob,

This is Debbie's proxy blogger Joe. Just came down from seeing you and you are looking great! Enjoy the movies tonight and we hope you get some rest. Debbie is in bed with her icebags on trying to control the GD temperatures. Hopefully, this will break soon.

Deb sends her love.
