Dr. Bobs Adventure

We've created this blog for several reasons. First is to keep family and friends(including Bobs' pts.)informed of Bobs' condition while he undergoes treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia(AML) at HUP. You may also write to Bob by posting a comment, which I'll print for him to read. Please feel free to pass this blog site on to anyone you think may want to join us.Instructions to blog are listed under day 12, and bobs' address etc are under day 14. Click on April Archives to find both.

Day 25 Admission Day 5 HiDAC

Hi everybody,

Hope everyone's keeping warm and dry on this very miserable Saturday. I wanted to see Bob today, but he was quite adamant that I take the day off, and I must admit I didn't protest too much b/c of the rain. He's had several phone calls which helped while away the time, and when I spoke to him last he was doing sudoku. He hasn't walked today b/c he got platelets again. They had only risen to 17,000 after yesterdays infusion, and his WBC is 0.2 with ANC(absolute neutrophil count) already at zero. So Bob has no immune system to speak of at this point. He sounds very chipper right now though, and was feeling good too.

We wanted to say Happy 90th Birthday to Mary R. Hope you have a wonderful time at your party w/ all your family. Thinking of you today too Anne...hope everything went well.

That's all for today. Thank you all for your support, and please keep the good vibes and prayers going.

All our love,
Bob and Mo

Dear Mo and Bob -

Just checking in to send my love and prayers. Man, this weather is miserable, but I have to admit I kind of like these sort of days every once in a while. It is a perfect day for staying in your pajamas and lolling about. So Dr. Bob, here's to lolling!

Mo - if you're travelling today - here's to smooth sailing for you.

Dr. Bob - Hope you have another restful, healing day. FYI the NBA playoffs start this weekend if you'd like a little sport. Do you find Sudoku addicting?

All my best - K

P.S. Joining the Patty and Mary amen vibe chorus for a comfortable day and uplifting counts!

Glad to hear you weren't driving in that slippery mess yesterday, I was worried about you Mo. Today is starting out a little better but there are no guarantees. SOunds like what is happening is what is supposed to happen. I wish i could visit today but I will have to settle for a call this afternoon. Till then, take care both of you. Luv

Hello Robert, It was good to talk to you yesterday. You sound so good and so strong. Keep that up. Better counts are just around the corner. (sort of). Also very nice to see Mo and Ms. Meg .We laughed alot. Young people are so much fun. Boy does that make me sound old. Weren't we just the young set? Time does fly. But its always good to hear Megs stories. Joe made us a good dinner though my taste buds are not cooperating rite now.Thank God a reprieve before my counts recover and a eat anything thats not nailed down. Keep up the excellant work you are doing down there. lots of love coming your way. deb
