Dr. Bobs Adventure

We've created this blog for several reasons. First is to keep family and friends(including Bobs' pts.)informed of Bobs' condition while he undergoes treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia(AML) at HUP. You may also write to Bob by posting a comment, which I'll print for him to read. Please feel free to pass this blog site on to anyone you think may want to join us.Instructions to blog are listed under day 12, and bobs' address etc are under day 14. Click on April Archives to find both.

we had our meeting with the dr. santa is not a match. bill's hla tests are not available as of this date. if bill is a match, then i could be in the hospital in 6 to 8 weeks. if he is not a match then it could be 3 to 4 months. so that is the time line. my counts are holding, and i feel good. no change in treatment. next visit is in sept. i have graduated to 6 t0 8 weeks. back to my physical therapy. we saw debbie today and despite her continuous fever she looked good. a sun tan can hide a lot of illness. love bob

Bob, you and mo are doing the opposite of deb and joe with this blog thing.. joe always posts debs.. and mo posts yours.. anyway.. sorry the first donor wasn't a match..hopefully bill will be.. didn't know the stay would be so long if the match isn't right!
Nice to see Kim is back ,, was starting to miss the sailor lingo.. take care bob..mdf

Hey Mare,

I thought that was confusing....what Bob meant was that if Bill is a match he won't have to wait as long to go into the hospital...the sct will take place sooner than if they have to search the national registry and get a donor from there. And if it is Bill, Dr. L said it could conceivably happen mid to late Sept. The length of the procedure is the same for either donor.

And I'm not going to say one smarta$$ thing about Kim being gone for so long and taking 7 vacations so far this year.

Love to my buds, Mo

PS, Even though Bobs' blogs come up as posted by me, he is typing them directly. He just uses my ID on the blog creating page.

jeezus bob, i know you like to sneak to the wawa for whatever but given the recent crime wave, you better take a right to freddy hill. and, take a deep breath while you are doing it... OR, take a left and head to the creme brulee. xoxoxoxoxo km

Hi Dr. Bob and Ms. Mo-

Keeping my fingers crossed on that match for Brother Bill. (Also rubbing my lucky knee - it never fails me when I'm looking for a parking place in a crowded lot. I always end up with a good spot. You have to try it sometime. It really works! Hoping it will also work on a crowded donor list. ;^ )

LOL about your compliance there Dr. Bob...but so glad to hear that you are feeling some increased mobility after your P.T. Today's word is FLEXIBILITY so I sure am sending some your way.

All my best - K

Hey Bob and Mo, Thinking about you guys all the time. anxious to here if bill is a match. still can't figure out how a stranger can be a better match than family but we know it happens all the time. back to the theory that we all came from adam and eve. doin ok down here as i hope you guys are at home. if you make a trip to wawa i would definitely turn left for the creme brulee, plus it smells better. lots of love to you guys. debbie
